State Performance

The State Performance Squad assists athletes in further developing all aspects of strokes technique and racing skills whilst improving fitness and work ethics, introducing some strength training as determined by the Head Coach, based on age, personal goals and ability. As a performance entry level pathway, swimmers in this group will be aged between11-15 and attend 5 sessions per week targeting the Victorian Age Championship. Athletes in this Squad will begin to establish a sound physiological base for future training. There will be a strong emphasis on all four strokes coming from a background of sound skill execution.

Entry into the squad is by invite from the Coach of the State Performance squad in consultation with the Head Coach. Athletes must demonstrate high levels of commitment and performance to maintain their place within the squad with squad re-selections completed after the major performance championships throughout the year.
